Neuro physician in Ahmedabad

A Harvard trained neurologist and consultant neuro physician in Ahmedabad, Dr. Swati H Shah received her initial medical education and training in India at BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad. After completing her residency in Internal Medicine, she was practising as an Asst. Professor at BJ Medical College before leaving for US. There she completed an intensive residency program in Adult Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women’s Hospital, affiliated to the Harvard University in Boston, USA in 2006. Her special interests lie in the field of neuromuscular disorders and neuro-electrophysiology. Hence, she has pursued super-specialisation in this area through fellowships in Neuromuscular Disorders and Clinical Research Fellowship in ALS, under Dr Anthony Amato and Dr Merit Cudkowicz, considered foremost experts in EMG and Motor Neuron Disease respectively.

Subsequently, she was an attending neuro physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Instructor at Harvard Medical School, before moving back to India in summer of 2010. Since returning to India, she has been practising as a neuro physician in Ahmedabad and has performed more than 10000 EMG/NCV/RNS tests to help with diagnosis and localisation of neuromuscular disorders.

She is one of the founding members and executive committee member of the Nerve Muscle Society of India.
